The Story
Artona coffee table, designed in the 1970s by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Maxalto. The piece features a broad square top in walnut burl, finished with a distinctive layered edge of walnut and ebony. This graphic, multi-tonal detail is carried down into the four monumental bases, which are composed of alternating vertical wood slats that create a solid yet rhythmic architectural presence.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The walnut burl top retains its rich, intricate grain and glossy finish with only minor surface wear. The structural base is solid and the decorative wood joinery remains tight and well-preserved.
